1.Poor Feeding programme ( Anna Daanam):-

In MahanNarayanopanishad, also referred as Chaturtha Prasna, we find the passage that is called Annastuti:

 "yaabhiraadityastapati rashmibhisthaabhi:
 parjanyO varshati parjanyEnaushadhi
 vanaspataya: prajaayanta: Oshadhivanaspatibhirannam
 bhavatyannEna praaNaa: praaNairbalam balEna tapaha
 Tapasaa shraddhaa shraddhayaa mEdhaa
mEdhayaa manIshaa manIshayaa manO manasaa shanti:
 shantyaa chittaM chittEna smRutihi:
 smRutyaa smaara: smaarENa vijnAnaM
 vijnEnaatmaanaM vEdayati tasmaadannaM
dadantsarvaaNyEtaani  dadaatyannaat praaNaa bhavanti bhutaanaaM
praanair manO manasascha vijnaanaM vijnaanaadaanandO braham yOni:"

This passage is called Annastuti since it praises food as a source of nourishment for our senses which gives us strength, which in turn lets us attain self-control (tapas), observe religious practices like Ekadashi Vratam, Dwadashi Vratam etc. As a result of this and anushTanam, our metal faculties are fine tuned, which results in mental control, which leads to calmness of mind during meditation. Eventually we reach a stage when we can concentrate upon the Lotus Feet of the Lord and finally attain THEM.

Annam is therefore considered a liberating agent and Annadaanam is one of the most sacred daanams that can be done. Be a part of it by sponsoring a Annadaanam. "Anna Daata Sukhibhava"  is a old saying from the Hindu myths and they significantly emphasized the importance of the 'Annadaanam'(Offering the free food to needy) as the heighest service to the poor. Baba always told Annadaan is the greatest charity and how any person who is hungry gets satisfaction. It is great to encourage annadaanam. That's why our scriptures say " Annadaanam maha daanam" and " annadaatha sukhibhava".

It is imperative, at this juncture, to take note of an important aspect. Pithru Karma and Annadaanam - both of them envisioned as Parameswara Pooja - are complimentary in nature in terms of the Athmic contentment that they confer to the individuals performing it. These two - Pithru Karma and Annadaanam - are the manifestations of the Almighty in the following manner: Pithru Karma - In His Invisible form. Annadhaanam - In His Visible form (For details kindly contact us).
