Presiding deity of the Southeast is Agni, the God of fire; hence kitchen may be located the southeast corner of the house. Storeroom should be made in the Northwest or Southwest portion of the house. Garbage may be collected in the Southern side portion of the house.

Children room should be in the northwest or West Side. To have a better concentration they should have a separate study close to their bedrooms. One should face the North or the East or the Northeast while studying and he will be shining more. Therefore the best locations for study room are the north, east, or northeast. These directions attract the positive effects of Mercury increasing brain power, Jupiter increasing wisdom, Sun increasing ambition and Venus helps in bringing about creativity in new thoughts and ideas. Which is the best location for bedrooms?

The Southwest portion of the house is meant for bedroom for adults. It may be located in the South, and will be congenial for comfortable living. Master bedroom may be on the upper storey, if any, in the Southwest portion of the house. Direction of a person while sleeping also has importance in Vasthusastra. One should never sleep having head towards the North Pole and legs towards the South Pole. However one may sleep having legs towards the West and head towards the East for mental peace, good thoughts and spirituality.

When to enter in to a new house?

Entering a New House. - If the house, which one has built, is calculated to give happiness to the family, one must take proper astrological counsel in entering it under a propitious moment. Soon after the eventful day - the day on which one's house is first occupied - if per chance something untoward happens, he will not only be heckled sarcastically by the family members, but his; pride of possession disappears and he feels life not worth living though his sense of vanity would not allow him to own his short-sightedness.

The ancient text of Vastu Shastra mentions various Gods from Hindu mythology fixing their locations on the site and prescribing the offerings to be made to them. We should treat our house like a human being, like a good friend who gives us comfort and protection. We can also give a personal name to our house. In Vasthusastra it is known as Vastu Purusha. The 'Vastu Purusha' is said to be the spirit of the site. It's in the form of a human male and lies on the site with his head towards the east, his posture fitting exactly in a square. Aesthetically correct dimensions of rooms, doors windows and even the structural members like plinth and pillars can be determined on the concept of ‘Vastu Purusha’. Even the interior can be made by the posture of the 'Vastu Purusha' and the norms, which specifies where and how the structure should be built, so that it does not injure him. All remedies were discussed and written in the Vedas. Pyramids, mirrors, yantras are used to help in improving the environment, thought process and general happiness with in the household.

"Vastu refers to the form of construction of the house, and the energies or forces called into existence by the arrangements made and the materials used in the construction. The subtle chemical results, effected by the conjunction of various materials, though not seen by the naked, eye, are still there and any evil tendencies they may have, to produce danger, disease, or death to the occupants, must be very sensibly and dexterously neutralised or counteracted. What is Yaaga or Homam Or Yaagya ?

Homa is an ancient Hindu ritual performed to invoke Agni, the God of fire, by offering Ghee (clarified butter) and other sacrificial offerings. As Havihi means Ghee and Havisha means offering and Yagya means sacrifice, Homa is also called Havan and Yagya. The is the prime duty of the mankind to show their loyalty towards nature and it is a big combination of Rituals, for prevention of evil planetary influences as well as to have a successful and bliss spiritual life. What is “Vidhi” (Purascharanam) ?

If one has done 1000 mantra recitals during the pooja, the 1/10 of that number, i.e., 100 times the mantra is recited again and with each mantra recital Ghee is pored into the Homakunda.( Fire pit). Other offerings like cooked rice etc are also offered as prescribed.The ingredients vary according to the deity worshiped.
